The split core design permits non-contact current measurement through magnetic field induction without taking the primary conductor offline or disconnecting it. That single characteristic defines where the T24 is used: tenant submetering in occupied buildings, per-circuit monitoring added to existing distribution panels, and PV or EV circuits where interrupting service carries a real cost. The secure locking hinge opens and closes with one hand, shortens installation time, and — critically for accuracy — allows the core faces to close cleanly, since a partially closed core introduces an air gap that degrades the ratio error.
The T24 uses a built-in resistor to produce a 0.333V (333mV) voltage output, connecting directly to electronic energy meters, power monitors and building controllers without burden-matching calculations. Because the secondary is a low-voltage signal rather than a 5A current output, it is safe to work with and cannot produce the lethal open-circuit voltage associated with current-output CTs. mA output variants are available for panel meters. Standard lead wire is 1.05m of UL 1015 24AWG twisted pair; custom lengths, gauges, connectors and current ratios are produced under our OEM/ODM program.
