The XH-SCT-T20 is a UL 2808 XOBA listed split core current transformer manufactured by Jiangyin Spark Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., a current sensing factory established in 1995. The split core design permits non-contact current measurement through magnetic field induction without taking the primary wire offline or disconnecting it for CT installation — critical in tenant submetering, where shutting down occupied tenant circuits is not an option.
The T20 uses a built-in resistor to provide a 333mV voltage output at rated current. Compared with traditional 5A current-output CTs, this design makes the secondary safe to open-circuit, removes the burden-matching calculation, and connects directly to modern electronic revenue meters and data loggers. With Class 0.5 ratio and phase accuracy, it supports the accuracy class required for tenant billing and cost allocation — provided it is matched with a meter of equal or better class (see the revenue-grade section below).
